If you're on this website, you've probably already gathered that I'm a photographer! I used to specialize in weddings, but since having a baby of my own, I've loved taking on some lifestyle family sessions as well. Art has always been a huge part of my life - starting with piano lessons when I was in elementary school, leading up to majoring in opera. Somewhere along the way, I found photography, and my life was never the same. I can't wait to watch my little Chloe grow up and see what she is passionate about!

Jeremy and I met in the Spring of 2011 at our church's annual conference in Richmond, VA. We found out that we actually attended the same church in Harrisonburg, but that we had never met each other because we went to different services and had different circles of friends.
He found out while we went to Ihop the second night of the conference that I had never been to Chick-Fil-a. It was on the other side of town from me, and I mean, come on... It's a chicken sandwich! How great can it be? But I kind of had a crush on him, so when he suggested we go to Chick-Fil-a with some "friends" shortly after the conference, I said yes.
No one else showed up, and we ended up talking for hours about anything and everything. We started dating that July, got engaged a year and a half later, and got married 7 months after that.
Chloe joined our family about 3.5 years after we got married, on February 14th, 2017. We can't imagine life without our little bundle! She is so spunky and full of personality and always on the go!!
So many people think photographers have always wanted to be photographers. I wanted to be a vet for a long time, but didn't want to put down sick animals. So by the time college rolled around, I decided to major in Vocal Performance because singing is something that I love and something that I'm good at. While in college, I had the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in the Middle East. I got my very first DSLR for the occasion, and while I didn't really know anything about my camera, I loved being able to photograph our journey.
When I made it back stateside, I wanted to learn and grow. One of my best friends let me (still not really knowing what I was doing) take her engagement photos, and that's when I knew I would love taking portraits of people. In the Middle East, it was mostly landscapes and architecture, and while I enjoyed that, I wouldn't trade anything to be able to photograph emotion.
Since then, I have attended workshops, watched countless tutorials, second shot weddings alongside some fantastic photographers, and have made industry friends who have been so generous in assisting me on my photography journey. Now I have such a rewarding and life giving job, and I can't imagine doing anything else!
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do! I've been to 31 states, Puerto Rico, and 16 countries.
I've sung a Mozart Concert Aria (Ah Berenice, Sol Nascente, KV 71) backed by an orchestra. There are only 12 recordings of this concert aria! It's definitely one of my most memorable experiences in college.
I'm allergic to cilantro, so it makes my burritos at Chipotle look really sad since most of their ingredients contain cilantro. It's still one of my favorite places to eat though!
We have 3 crazy cats - Amber, Prim and Chewie. We adopted Amber in Florida, and Prim and Chewie were foster fails! Whenever people ask us if we want a dog, we kind of think they're a little crazy. Cats are great!
I love football - more specifically the Green Bay Packers and of course the JMU Dukes. (And I cheer for the Patriots by association.) I've been to two Green Bay games, and too many JMU games to count.
While I've never broken a bone, I sprained my ankle so badly that the athletic trainer told me I would have been better of if I had broken it.
I took piano lessons from early on in elementary school all the way to college. I'm currently working on Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor.
Books: Anything by Jane Austen, but Persuasion is my favorite. If you're a fellow Austenista, I recommend checking out Katherine Reay. All of her books have lots of Austen references. Dear Mr. Knightley is my favorite! I also have a guilty pleasure in reading Young Adult Dystopian books. If you have suggestions, bring them my way!
Board Games: While we're down for an occasional party game (anyone want to play Quelf with me? Jeremy wont...) strategy games are what we really enjoy. We love Ticket to Ride (especially Rails & Sails), Dominion (just added our 3rd expansion), Alhambra, and 7 Wonders. We're always up for new suggestions!
Movies: Jeremy and I both love Star Wars (although the original trilogy will always be the best!) and Marvel. We try to see all the Marvel movies in theater, but having a baby changes plans!
TV Shows: I love period dramas like The Crown, The Paradise, North and South - Basically anything by BBC. One of my favorite lesser known shows is Shetland which is a crime drama that takes place on the remote Shetland Islands in Scotland. It's BBC and great! Other go-to's are Parks & Recreation, Gilmore Girls, NCIS, Chuck, and Hawaii 5-0.
Music: NEEDTOBREATHE. I could add more to this category, but there really is no need!
Misc: Iced Chai and Diet Coke are my favorite drinks. I also love anything with peanut butter, just as long as it doesn't involve coffee!! Foxes and otters are my favorite, although Chloe seems to prefer owls. 'Owl' was her first word! Peonies and hydrangeas are my favorite flowers, and I really want a crepe myrtle in our future yard.
Photography documents momentous events, unforgettable experiences, and everything in between. Photographs are arguably the best keepsakes, and my goal is to capture your love to be passed down and cherished for generations to come.
When asked what drives my passion for photography, weddings will always be my answer! I love seeing grooms cry, seeing brides feel confident and beautiful, and being able to witness the the ultimate display of love and commitment gives me such joy!
Every wedding is unique and special. As such, every package is completely customizable to fit your needs.
Photography for elopements is available on a limited basis.
